Welcome Home Ilagan & Malicdem

Philippine dart icons Noel Malicdem and Lourence Ilagan arrive today after an excellent display of skill, resilience, and fighting spirit at the PDC World Darts Championship in Alexandra Palace, London.

PDC Asian Tour Rank 1 player Lourence Ilagan exhibited a spirited performance against Cristo Reyes of Spain in round 1 which went to a fifth set. Ilagan was on course for victory after winning the first two sets, but Reyes made a comeback, taking the last five legs of the match.

NDFP Rank 2 player Noel Malicdem enjoyed success with a straight sets victory over Austria's Rowby-John Rodriguez in Round 1 last December 17, and advanced to Round 2 against number 7 seed Peter Wright of Scotland on December 20.

Malicdem nearly ousted the popular Scot out of the second round when he forced a fifth-set decider but missed the match dart at the bullseye. Wright battled back in a sudden-death leg to win 3-2. Wright averaged 96.53 while Malicdem averaged 93.77.

The National Darts Federation of the Philippines and the Filipino darting community celebrate the pride and distinction brought by Noel and Lourence to the country. Your exemplary display of sportsmanship and showmanship is an inspiration to us all.

For yet another milestone in Philippine darts, maraming salamat and mabuhay kayo, Noel and Lourence. We are very PROUD of you.

We also thank the entire darting community for your support and prayers for Noel Malicdem and Lourence Ilagan.

As 2019 draws to a close, we pray and prepare for an even better and brighter 2020.
