Philippine top dart players, Lourence Ilagan and Noel Malicdem leave tonight for Hamburg, Germany as official representatives of the Philippines to the PDC BETVICTOR WORLD CUP scheduled for June 6 - 9, 2019.

Ilagan and Malicdem earned the right to represent the Philippine as the top Pinoy players in the 2018/ 2019 PDC Asian Tour Order of Merit.

The Philippines is scheduled to play England in the first round. Though England is the number 1 seeded team in the World Cup, there are very encouraging words from Wayne Mardle, a retired professional dart player who works as commentator and analyst for Sky Sports. Mardle suggested there could be a few upsets on the card in the early stages, including a potential first round exit for the English pairing of Rob Cross and Michael Smith.

To quote the words of Mardle - "I think the Philippines are massively underestimated. Before the draw was made I said that and I'm sticking with them, they're massively overpriced with the bookmakers. Lourence Ilagan and Noel Malicdem are quality operators, Ilagan has one of the best techniques in world darts. So I think England are up against it.”

Such esteemed accolade comes from the competitive and fighting spirit Ilagan and Malicdem displayed in the PDC World Darts Championship in London last December. Philippine darters are gaining international recognition and we should continue to uplift Philippine darts.

The Sambayanang Darterong Pinoy bids Lourence and Noel the best of luck - Laban mga Darterong Pinoy for pride and glory of Philippine Darts.
