NDFP Regional Player Ranking

The NDFP Ranking and Sanctioned tournaments are expanding nationwide. Participation is rising, less known competitive players are increasing, and new dart areas are emerging. The National Darts Federation of the Philippines (NDFP) sustains this nationwide development of darts with the NDFP Regional Player Ranking, a platform of recognition to motivate and inspire our regional players to excel and to gain national attention. To quote NDFP President Tito Soncuya “We hope that the identification of the Top Regional Players will encourage and engage other players from the different regions to strive for recognition and excellence”.

Regional Player Ranking ending the 3rd Quarter of 2017

  • This includes 66 Open Singles ranking events nationwide from October 2015 to September 2017. 
  • The total regional ranking points earned show the competitive strength of each region.
  • The total players in the region with ranking points reflect the depth of competitive players in each region.
  • Total National Ranking points is 14,984 points with 283 players with ranking points.

Regional Breakdown

  • The National Capital Region is the biggest region with 50 players having ranking points for a total 4,266 ranking points. Top NCR player and also the top ranked national player is Noel Malicdem followed by Prussian Arceño and Boy Ulang who are both in the top 10 National Ranking.
  • SOCCSKSARGEN (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Gensan) in Southern Mindanao is the 2nd biggest region having 3,295 ranking points with 43 players with points led by the 2nd- 4th nationally ranked players DJ Tongcopanon of Gensan, Christian Perez of Koronadal, and Lito Peresores of Gensan.
  • Northern Mindanao (Cagayan de Oro-Iligan City -Caraga region) is the 3rd biggest region with 34 players for a total of 2,512 ranking points. Alexis Toylo of Cagayan de Oro is the new top regional player dislodging Gabiana who now ranks 3rd while Alex Tagarao secured 2nd place. These top 3 regional players are all in the top 10 national ranking.
  • The Calabarzon-Mimaropa region has 1,396 points with 27 players. The region is led by Lourence Ilagan, the 9th ranked national player followed closely by fast climbing Donjem Dimaculangan of Lucena.  In 3rd is JP Detablan of Taytay.
  • The Cordillera Autonomous Region – CAR is led by Val Capuyan, Charlie Morris and Thailand based Nelson Uligan. CAR has 1,266 ranking points and 35 players with ranking points.
  • Central Mindanao (Davao Provinces) has a new regional top ranked player, Sonny Balagat of Davao City followed by Jun Noynay and Ferdinand Galleon. The region has a total 24 players with ranking points and 926 regional ranking points.
  • Central / Northern Luzon has the 11 players with ranking points, the least in any region and 474 points earned. Paolo Nebrida of Olongapo leads this region with almost half of the regional points followed by Ronnie Jalaman and EJ Galang of Bulacan. Northern Luzon led by Santiago City is rapidly accelerating the growth of darts in the Cagayan Valley while Central Luzon remains dormant except for Bulacan.
  • Western Mindanao (Zamboanga City, Pagadian, Dipolog, Ozamis City) has increasingly hosted NDFP ranking tournaments. The region is led by Ariel Caraca of Pagadian followed by Polbert Maraon of Zamboanga Norte and Jayson Jacob of Pagadian City. The region has only 397 points but a high of 28 players with ranking points.  
  • Visayas Region represents the whole of the Visayan Islands, due to the limited NDFP ranking tournaments and players playing in ranking tournaments except for Tacloban and Maasin City, in the Leyte Provinces. The area is led by Melvin Pelonia and Vicente Bodoy (+) of Maasin City and John Suerto of San Carlos City.
  • Bicol Region is led by LJ Alcantara of Sorsogon, Martin Delarmente of Masbate and Ariel Sia of Daet.
The NDFP regional development plans include the expansion of ranking activities in the Visayas. In November 17-19, 2017, the first NDFP National Ranking tournament will be held in the Island of Negros, the 200K Dumaguete Open. Ranking tournament during the Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City is in the works for January next year.
