Dolreich “DJ” Tongcopanon, Jr. of Robson-General Santos City maintained his number 1 spot at the end of the 4th Q of the NDFP Player Ranking.  This is the third straight quarter that Tongcopanon topped the NDFP Player Ranking, after overtaking Christian Perez of Koronadal at the end of the 2nd quarter in 2016.

Tongcopanon began to stir waves in the NDFP ranking scenario after winning his first national title at the Bicol Dart Challenge in May, 2015 at the age of 20.  One year later, the young darter has won six (6) Open Singles, placed 2nd in seven (7) and reached the money bracket in twelve (12) more NDFP ranking tournaments.   He was the runaway winner of the Chris Sports Darter of the Year in 2015 and the Federation Cup Champion of 2016.  The NDFP National Player Ranking is based on the cumulative ranking points won in the last 2 (two) years.

With the tirade of victories in the last two years, Tongcopanon who plays with Grip-X Axima, leads the NDFP ranks with 644 points – more than 1 hundred points over the second spot occupied by Noel Malicdem of Robson-Pasig City with 533 points.  Malicdem climbed the ranks from Rank 13 at the close of 2015, after securing thirteen (13) placements in 2016, including two (2) championship titles and two (2) second place spots.  Malicdem is the Champion of NDFP Masters’ Cup, 2016 and the Chris Sports Darter of the Year for 2016.
