2nd Quarter 2015 NDFP Ranking Update

Updated July 08, 2015

National Master (NM) Christian Perez retains the number 1 NDFP Player Ranking at the end of 2nd Quarter, 2015. The top 4 ranked players of the 1st Quarter remained the same for the 2nd Quarter.  Prussian Arceño remained in 2nd place followed by NM Lourence Ilagan and NM Bong Gabiana. Though the ranking stayed the same, the points-difference separating the players have significantly been narrowed and changes in the 3rd quarter ranking is highly anticipated.

Bhoy Ulang moved to 5th place displacing NM Andy Villamor who slid to 7th place.  Alexis Toylo is in the 6th spot.  DJ Tongcopanon, with an excellent performance in the 2nd quarter, moved from 20th place to 8th place.  NM Toto Andrade and Ricky Mijares moved out of the top 8 ranking.

The Player Ranking is based on the accumulated points earned from the NDFP sanctioned and ranking tournaments in the last 2 years from July 2013 to June 2015. This is the ranking of players on a rolling 2-years that changes every quarter.

There were 12 NDFP Ranking and Sanctioned Tournaments in the 2nd Quarter – 8 National tournaments and 4 Regional tournaments. Lourence Ilagan and DJ Toncopanon won 2 National Titles each with Christian Perez, Bhoy Ulang, Bong Gabiana, Elmer Maranan, and Edward Santos winning one each. The Regional tournaments were won by Noel Malicdem, Ace Uligan, Sonny Balagat, and Michael Paculdo.

After the 2nd Quarter of 2015, there are now 8 players with 2 national titles each who need one more Open Singles title in a national ranking tournament to join the current 11 National Masters. These players are Prussian Arceño, DJ Tongcopanon, Ricky Mijares, Edward Santos, Willy Omli, Bobot Tobianosa, JP de Tablan, and Elmer Maranan.  We look forward to a new National Master by the end of the year.
