Lourence Ilagan of DOT-Gunner regained his deadly form to win the 2018 NDFP Federation Cup in Sta. Lucia Mall last June 17, 2018.  Ilagan overwhelmed Donjem Dimaculangan of Robson with 3-0 straight sets win in the best of 5 sets - best of 7 legs championship match with a tournament highlight of 96.96 dart average.

The 88.81 average of Donjem, another high in local competition, was not enough to overcome the consistency and perseverance of Ilagan.  Leading to the finals, Donjem beat teammate Noel Malicdem, 3-2 sets with all decision legs in all sets, while Ilagan beat another Robson player, Paolo Nebrida 3-1 sets.
Early on, Ilagan was highly focused to win all his matches in the stage 1 and stage 2 round robin group matches to advance to the Top 8.  In the Top 8, Ilagan downed Sonny Balagat of Davao City 3-0 sets in the best of 5 sets - best of 5 legs match, while Donjem beat Boy Gionzon of DOT in a close decision set.

The Federation Cup is a Free Invitational Tournament sponsored by Robson Sportscraft open only to the top 32 NDFP Ranked Players ending 2017.  The competitiveness of the  Federation Cup 2018 was at its peak with players sharpened by the 27 NDFP Ranking Tournaments  since January and the exposure in the PDC Asian Tour.  The international exposure heavily weighed on the performance of players as Lourence Ilagan was fresh from his twin championships in the PDC Asian Tour 3-4 in Macau last month. All semi-finalists in the 2018 Federation Cup - Donjem Dimaculangan, Noel Malicdem, and Paolo Nebrida are active in the PDC Asian Tour.
