Noel Malicdem of Team Robson is the 2016 Chris Sports Darter of the Year, pocketing the P25K Darter of the Year Award from Chris Sports.

Malicdem placed in 13 out of 27 NDFP 2016 ranking tournaments, including two (2) national championship titles, the P200K Darterong Pinoy and the P120K Blue Palawan National Tournament.  A run-away winner, Malicdem accumulated 350 points – over a hundred points away from 2nd placer Christian Perez with 248 points (2014 Darter of the Year) and 3rd placer DJ Tongcopanon with 244 points (2015 Darter of the Year).

Noel started his streak with a Joint 9th – 16th victory at the 1st Philippine Columbian Association National Tournament and at the Panagbenga Festival, both in February, and continued with Joint 5th-8th placements at the Bicol Dart Challenge, Erap Cup, Southern Tagalog National, and Brgy. Apopong Festival.  He also placed Joint 3rd-4th at the Balamban Festival in Santiago City, Sangyaw Open and Mayor’s Cup of the Mayor Romualdez National in Tacloban, and bagged second place for both the Chris Sports & Robson Summer Dartfest and Baguio Day Tournament.

Noel, also dubbed as the “Gentle Giant”, is 2016’s NDFP Master’ Cup champion.  A resident of Pasig City, Noel started playing darts for Robson since 2001, has won several NDFP ranking titles, and currently uses a 22 gram Grip-X Trebor.   Noel turned 40 this January and is notably one of the country’s best darters today.
