The P25K Chris Sports Darter of the Year award is wide open after the 1st Quarter of 2016. Lito Peresores of General Santos City is the co-leader with 60 points after bagging the championship of the 100K Kalilangan Festival and landing Top 8 in the 100K Philippine Columbian Association Open (PCA). Boie Parfan of Manila is tied with 60 ranking points with a 2nd place finish in the PCA, Top 4 in the 53K CADASS Fiesta Cup, and Top 8 in the 120K Panagbenga Open.
Tied with 48 ranking points are Dolreich Tongcopanon, champion of the PCA and Top 16 in Panagbenga; Prussian Arceño, champion of the Panagbenga Open and Top 16 in the PCA; and Boy Ulang, 2nd placer in Panagbenga Open and Top 8 in the PCA. The Singles champion of the 150K Araw ng Sibugay, the richest 1st Q Ranking event is Roland “ Dodoy” Nalungon of Cagayan de Oro City winning 40 ranking points.
The 1st Quarter ended with 4 National Ranking Tournaments and 3 Regional tournaments with a total cash prize of 650K. All the singles events were won by 7 different individuals.
For the 2nd Quarter of 2016, a total of 7 National Ranking and 1 Regional tournament with a total cash prize of 1.2M is calendared at this time. Multiple singles champions in the 2nd Quarter will definitely make a breakaway for the award.
