Philippine darts ace Alexis Toylo made a memorable debut at the Mr. Vegas Grand Slam of Darts 2025 in Wolverhampton, marking a milestone for Asian darts.
Toylo stunned the crowd with a 5–4 victory over former Lakeside champion and World No. 4 Stephen Bunting, becoming the first Asian player to win a match at the prestigious PDC event. He also impressed fans with a brilliant 167 checkout and a composed double top–top finish during the group stage.
Though Toylo did not advance beyond the group round—finishing with one win and two losses—his performance showcased his skill, composure, and potential to compete among the world’s best.
His historic run serves as an inspiration for Filipino and Asian darters, proving that players from the region can shine on darts’ biggest stages. |
