Lourence Ilagan of Malabon City Darts Club (MCDC) is the 2024 PDC Asian Champion! Ilagan emerged as the top winner over 47 other Asian Championship qualifiers last Sunday, October 20th at Winford Resort and Casino Manila. He defeated fellow MCDC player Sandro Sosing, 7-3 in the finals, bringing home $15,000 in prize money. At Joint 3rd/4th are Lee Lok Yin of Hong Kong and Tan Jenn Ming of Malaysia.
Ilagan is now slated to compete at the upcoming Mr. Vegas Grand Slam of Darts from November 9 – 17 at the WV Active Aldersley, Wolverhampton. He will be one of the 32 world top dart stars who will battle across group and knockout stages for the Eric Bristow Trophy and £650,000 in prize money.
Ilagan will also compete at the 2024/2025 World Darts Championship in Alexandra Palace, London this December, alongside fellow Filipino Asian Qualifiers Alexis Toylo (MCDC), Paolo Nebrida (Robson), and Asian Championship runner-up Sandro Sosing (MCDC). This will be Ilagan’s 9th appearance at the World Darts Stage.
Sosing was last year’s Asian Champion Runner-up and will mark his second shot at the World Darts Championship. Toylo will make his debut appearance at the Ally Pally while Nebrida will make his 3rd attempt at most prestigious darts tournament of the PDC. This will be the second time that four (4) Filipinos will compete in the World Darts Championship.
