Christian Perez is scheduled to travel to the United Kingdom on February 8th, Thursday to participate in the PDC Pro Tour – Players Championship series.

A year after obtaining his PDC Tour Card from the PDC Qualifying School and months of completing the required tests and documents for temporary residence in the UK, Perez was finally granted his UK Sportsperson Visa last February 2nd. His work visa is sponsored by the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) while all other expenses will be shouldered by his sports management team, Robson Sportscraft, Inc.

“We didn’t expect the visa application process to be this tedious and take this long, but with prayers, patience, and the support of the DRA and Robson Sportscraft, we were able to pull through and secure a Sportsperson Visa. Tuloy na tuloy na tayo sa PDC Players Championship”, remarked Perez.

The 42-year old dart champion from Koronadal City will embark on a full year of PDC Players Championship events starting February 12th at Wigan, province of England. Other events will be held in Leicester, and Milton Keynes in England, and Hildesheim in Germany.

Perez made his PDC Pro Tour debut at the PDC Players Championship Events 13 and 14 in June of last year in Hildesheim and reached the quarter finals of Event 13. He defeated former world champion Rob Cross 6-5 (World Rank #5), Jamie Hughes of England (World Rank #58) 6-1, Luke Woodhouse of England (World Rank #44) 6-2, and Karel Sedlacek of the Czech Republic (World Rank #99) 6-3. He was later deposed by England’s Connor Scutt (World Rank #81) in the battle for the semis, 6-3.

Perez is the first Filipino darter to obtain a PDC Pro Tour Card and play in the PDC Pro Tour. We have high hopes that other Filipino darters will follow in his footsteps.

Let us all wish Christian Perez a safe and sound stay in the U.K., and a victorious journey in the PDC Pro Tour - Players Championship.
